The world have always been a place where people chase their callings and unique talent. That is why we have individuals like Leonardo Da Vinci becoming not just a seasoned artist but a physician and an innovative engineer. What makes people thrive in life is not just about the studies in school but the application of accumulated knowledge. That can be said about the origin of one of Nigerian’s infant female fashion house called Teeline Couture.

Teeline Couture is a female fashion house that was founded and is being managed by Oluwatosin Bolutife Odusanya. The hidden truth about Oluwatosin is that she is not just the fashion Lead at Teeline couture but also a trained Architect from the University of Technology Akure, Nigeria. Building a carrier in Fashion Designs side by side with her Architecture studies all started in 2016 but only became public about two years ago. Creating a brand which is focused on providing ladies with classy Nigerian Native attires, fuses other female dresses and Bridal wears. Teeline couture have been trying to create a brand that speaks class for women in Nigeria and beyond.

In an interview with Oluwatosin, she explained that she have always wanted to be a major player in the fashion industry. In her words she states that: “I chose to be a fashion designer because i’ve always wanted to be a key part of the fashion industry-who would bring a disruptive change to the industry by leveraging innovation and technology in the African space.”

This above line of thought has motivated her to never restrict her design tentacles as it regards the types of designs, colours and fabric that she integrates during their designs. Hence Teeline Couture under almost two years of existence have been able to design different projects which has included a Bridal Dress. According to Oluwatosin, the Bridal dress was the most challenging job she have been privileged to undertake since she officially lunched her brand on 8th January 2019. However she reiterates that she welcomes pressure because according to her it is a platform test her limit and improve.

Just like any new business trying to find its feet in its local market, Oluwatosin’s Teeline Couture have been exposed to pressure. When asked how she deals with it, her reply was: “The truth is pressure from friends, colleagues and customers is inevitable. But God, patience and taking life one step at a time has really helped me. I don’t work based on someone else’s progress, I allow myself to grow at my own pace with focus on improvement.”

Finally, when we probed into her plans her infant fashion House. Oluwatosin explained that in the next five years, she plans to expand from working from home to having her own workspace. Revealing that she also owns a fashion academy, she also explains that she plans to expand it- so that she can teach and train upcoming/prospective fashion designers on modern ways of practice. For a young smart lady who switched professions to pursue a carrier in fashion much respects is accorded to her and her craft.
