Today has been really busy with so many songs released and Onika Maraj capped up my days work by releasing her fourth studio album. On a first play of the songs I wanted to write about the song that is different from the rest. At first I looked at the song by her and Eminem and then Ganja Burns because they are different. But on a second thought, they are rap song so they got knocked off the table by this smashing emotional single titled Come See about me . This song is one love song that every love seeker can relate with. Listening to this song I felt the emotion in her voice. The simplicity of production and vocal style can make this song stick to the heart of any listener. I really do love this song because in an album that Nicki Minaj was trying too much to show the world and the competition in the female rap world that she is still the boss she still somehow pulled out a good honest music. Come See about me is a soul soaking sound with a loving message.
THE MESSAGE
In this song Niki minaj goes emotional begging her lover to come to her. She sounds like she was once in a good relationship with this person but something went wrong and they broke up. She acknowledges that she messed up and gave this set man trouble. She acknowledges that the man must have moved on with his life and getting used to not living the life of stress like he was in when they were dating. But she lets him know somethings happen because it always in the making but one fact is love will always be real and you can’t fake it. She begs him to come see how she was doing that she has grown up and knows that it’s not always going to be about her. She tells him to come back because she has been pondering where they got it all wrong but if they did come back together, she was sure it won’t hurt them to see what they can achieve together.
She opens up the second verse painting a picture of the arrival of this lover of hers. She begins to pour out her heart to him. She tells him she has changed up over the period of time and she hopes she’s not too late to win him back to herself. She tell him that she knows she can’t measure up the standards he would want in a lady but the simple truth is that she needs him in her life and prays him not to deny her.
THE BEAT
The grand piano and harmonic violins used in this song made me melt when I heard this song. It brought out the emotions in the song when married with Nicki’s voice . The drum line used in this song was kept basic directing the emphasis to the violins, piano and sound mastering. I must say that the mastering of this song by Braide and Walter gave was some of the realest and simplest engineering I have heard in the past four months.
POSSIBLE VIDEO
This is an honest song and I feel Nicki should keep the video production as honest as possible. No heavy makeup or expensive video production. If this song is shot well it might just be the song that blows this album to the ends of the world. The album full review will be coming soon.
